2 People Attacked by Bees on Horseback in North Scottsdale
SCOTTSDALE - Rural Metro and Scottsdale firefighters are at the scene of a bee attack in north Scottsdale.
They treated two women in their 60s who were stung by a Swarm of bees. One of them was left unconscious.
According to Rural Metro's Mark Cichocki, the women were horseback riding in the Rio Verde area when their horses somehow disturbed a bee hive.
One woman was stung more than 50 times -- and the other woman was thrown off her horse, suffering bee stings and a bone fracture as well.
An ambulance took them to Scottsdale-Thompson Peak Hospital. They are both expected to survive.
