Scottsdale bee attack: 3 stung by aggressive Swarm:
Wednesday, Mar 16, 2011
Three people were stung by "aggressive" bees Wednesday morning near Granite Reef Road and Indian School Road in Scottsdale.
Around 9:50 a.m., Scottsdale fire officials were called to the 8300 block of East Heatherbrae Avenue, where a landscaper working outside was stung by bees.
Fire officials found a large bee hive in a nearby palm tree and treated the three people who suffered bee stings. One of them was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation.
The area has been evacuated and residents are asked to stay indoors as "the bees are still very aggressive," according to the Scottsdale Fire Department.
Fire officials are working with the homeowners on contacting a bee-removal company. The Fire Department will remove the bees if they become more aggressive or cause danger to a person.
